Privacy Policy

We built HealthCal.org on a simple promise: your health data belongs to you, not us.

Effective date: June 1, 2025  ·  Last updated: June 1, 2025

Short version: We do not collect, store, or share any health data you enter into our calculators. Everything stays on your device. We collect only basic, anonymous analytics to improve the site.

Information We Collect

HealthCal.org is designed to function without collecting personal information. We distinguish between two types of data:

  • Health calculator inputs (age, weight, height, activity level, etc.) — these are processed entirely within your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.
  • Anonymous usage data — aggregated, non-identifying information such as page views, device type, and general geographic region (country level), collected to help us improve the site.

We do not collect your name, email address, IP address in identifiable form, or any other personally identifying information unless you voluntarily contact us.

Health Calculator Data

All data entered into HealthCal.org calculators — including but not limited to weight, height, age, sex, activity level, caloric intake, macronutrient goals, heart rate, and body measurements — is processed locally in your web browser.

This data is never sent to our servers, never stored in a database, and never shared with any third party. When you close or refresh the page, your inputs are gone. We have no technical ability to access or retrieve calculator data you have entered.

How We Use Information

The limited anonymous data we collect is used solely to:

  • Understand which calculators and pages are most useful
  • Identify and fix technical errors or broken functionality
  • Improve site performance and user experience
  • Measure the overall reach and usage of the platform

We do not use any data for advertising targeting, profiling, or sale to third parties.

Cookies & Analytics

HealthCal.org uses minimal, privacy-respecting cookies and analytics. Specifically:

  • Session cookies: Temporary cookies used to maintain basic site functionality. These expire when you close your browser.
  • Analytics: We may use a privacy-focused analytics tool (such as Plausible or a self-hosted solution) that does not use cookies and does not track individual users across sessions or sites.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers. You can use HealthCal.org with your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting enabled without any loss of functionality.

Third-Party Services

HealthCal.org does not currently integrate any third-party services that receive your health data. We do not run advertisements on the site. We do not use affiliate tracking or behavioral profiling tools.

If you contact us via email, your message and contact details will be stored in our email system (such as Gmail or a similar service) and used only to respond to your inquiry.

Children’s Privacy

HealthCal.org is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us through a contact form, please notify us and we will delete it promptly.

For users aged 13–17, we recommend using the site under parental or guardian supervision. Calculator results are informational only and are not a substitute for pediatric medical advice.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data through our calculators, most traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) do not apply — there is simply nothing to delete or retrieve.

If you have contacted us via email and wish for that correspondence to be deleted, you may request this by emailing privacy@healthcal.org. We will fulfill such requests within 30 days.

Residents of the EEA, UK, or California may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. Please contact us if you have questions specific to your jurisdiction.

Data Security

HealthCal.org is served over HTTPS. Since we do not store health data on our servers, the principal security measure is the fact that the data never leaves your device in the first place. We take standard precautions to protect the integrity of our website and any contact information you voluntarily provide.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also add a notice to the site homepage. Continued use of HealthCal.org after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
