⚠ This is not medical advice. The calculators, articles, and all content on HealthCal.org are for general educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Not a Medical Service
HealthCal.org is an independent health information website. We are not a medical practice, clinic, hospital, or licensed healthcare provider. Nothing on this site — including our calculators, articles, blog posts, FAQs, or any other content — constitutes the practice of medicine, nursing, dietetics, or any other regulated healthcare profession.
No doctor-patient, dietitian-client, or any other professional relationship is created between you and HealthCal.org by your use of this site.
Calculator Results are Estimates
All calculations provided on HealthCal.org — including BMI, TDEE, calorie needs, macro targets, body fat percentage, hydration needs, heart rate zones, and all other metrics — are statistical estimates derived from published scientific formulas and population-level research.
These estimates are based on general equations (such as Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict, Katch-McArdle, and others) that are valid across large populations but may not reflect your individual physiology, health status, medications, genetics, or other factors.
- Calculator results may differ from measurements obtained through clinical testing.
- Outputs such as “ideal weight” or “healthy BMI range” are statistical references, not personal prescriptions.
- Numbers produced by our tools should not be used as the sole basis for medical, dietary, or exercise decisions.
Always Consult a Healthcare Professional
Before making any significant changes to your diet, exercise routine, caloric intake, supplementation, or overall health management, please consult a qualified healthcare provider. This is especially important if you:
- Have or suspect you have a medical condition (including but not limited to diabetes, heart disease, eating disorders, thyroid conditions, or metabolic disorders)
- Are pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant
- Are under 18 or over 65 years of age
- Are currently taking prescription medications
- Have a history of disordered eating or exercise addiction
- Are recovering from surgery, illness, or injury
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services (such as 911 in the US) immediately. Do not use this website to seek emergency guidance.
Scientific Accuracy & Currency
We strive to base all formulas and content on peer-reviewed scientific research. Our medical advisor reviews content for clinical accuracy. However:
- Medical and nutritional science evolves constantly. Recommendations that were considered best practice may change.
- We cannot guarantee that every piece of content on the site reflects the absolute latest research at the time you read it.
- In cases of discrepancy between our site and your healthcare provider’s guidance, defer to your provider.
We update our formulas and content when significant evidence-based changes occur, but we accept no liability for decisions made based on outdated information.
No Endorsement of External Content
HealthCal.org may contain links to external websites, research papers, or third-party resources for reference purposes. These links do not constitute an endorsement of the linked content, and we are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of external sites.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HealthCal.org, its founders, team members, advisors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
